Cheers :( and out of interest how inconvenient is it having the retractor reel mounted in the boot permenantly? does it hinder he access to the rear two seats?

There you go - not the most elegant of solutions but it's OK. I felt that having just a lap belt was cheap and unsafe and anything more had to be better. The reel is a little bit further forward than in the instructions because if you are carrying a boot load with seats out it would get in the way and the belt be at risk of getting snagged with any clobber being carried. Access to the two seats is fine - haven't had a problem with it.

Now.. how do you add pictures...

Cost saving; the law changed and a 3-point belt became a legal requirement. A lap belt on the middle seat is the single biggest concern I have with my Galaxy, but as it is frequently used with different seating configurations, I'm not really able to consider drilling the floor to take the Securon belt.

here is the link for the securon seat belt - but blimey the price has really gone up. I'd seriously look elsewhere before plumping for this one.

Securon lapbelt

See the top bit in red - centre rear passengers..

and yes - IvorE's right - once you've done it you're stuck with it.

interesting, quick question though is...

does the middle seat have the strength not to collapse in the event of an accident? i always thought that the seat belt had to have a structural point to fasten to at shoulder height, or the seat had to be manufactured to withstand the loading in the event of an accident?

i'd also want to be 100% sure that the belt doesnt slip off the seat in the event of an accident (not sure a plastic clip is enough) and do serious shoulder/back injury?
