RichieRich Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 :) My ABS warning light has come on. I know in the past this has been caused by a faulty ABS sensor. From the Haynes manual they look easy to replace, but how do I tell which, if any, is faulty? It would save me having to take the car to the garage to be fixed, especially as I am staying in Germany for a few months. Richie Rich Quote
Jeff115 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 Hi Richie,I've checked the wheel speed sensors on my previous Passat but not on Gal to date. Problem however turned out to be a loose connection at the control unit. Take them all out (per Haynes) and clean/lubricate with small amount of copper-based anti-seize. Mine were rusted slightly, I recall. I do remember that a faulty sensor will show a different resistance across the sensor to hub carrier to the others but cannot remember the ohm value. Anyone else? Jeff. Quote
