:) My ABS warning light has come on. I know in the past this has been caused by a faulty ABS sensor. From the Haynes manual they look easy to replace, but how do I tell which, if any, is faulty?

It would save me having to take the car to the garage to be fixed, especially as I am staying in Germany for a few months.

Hi Richie,

I've checked the wheel speed sensors on my previous Passat but not on Gal to date. Problem however turned out to be a loose connection at the control unit.

Take them all out (per Haynes) and clean/lubricate with small amount of copper-based anti-seize. Mine were rusted slightly, I recall.

I do remember that a faulty sensor will show a different resistance across the sensor to hub carrier to the others but cannot remember the ohm value.

Anyone else?

Jeff.
