Guest wellssj@aol.com Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Very recently the central locking stopped working on my 1.8 Focus. First I renewed the battery in the key but then I realised that the central locking was not working from inside either (using the lock lever on front doors). So I suspected a fuse .. and here is the fun part. Looking in my Owners Guide (page 144) it clearly states that the central locking uses fuse 63 in the central fuse box. There is no fuse 63 in my car's fuse box nor in the diagram on page 142 in the Owners Guide. Looks like a good trick to force me to pay for assistance! Clues anyone? Quote
HJT Posted June 18, 2003 Report Posted June 18, 2003 Had a similar situation with my Mondeo. Blew a fuse, check the book, couldn't find the fuse number mentioned. After much searching, I found a second fuse box behind the glove compartment and the fuse was in there. It did mention this in the handbook but wasn't very clear and removing the glovebox to get at it was a real pain!So check the book and car to see if you have a second box somewhere. Howard Quote
