18" Or 19" Alloys

I'm still confused about the re-inforced tyre issue. Does the weight of the car mean it must use the reinforce tyre or is it borderline so a normal tyre will do?

 

My tame tyre guy has always recommended the re-inforced Dunlop, inspite of me enquiring about Bridgestones, Yokohamas, etc.

 

A new set of alloys would be nice and there's some 'interesting deals to be had - but there not so interesting if you stick a reinforced tyre on the same rim - price just sky rockets.

 

Can any one advise ?

Hi Andy...those look ACE!! Sent the guy at stourbridge an email a while back about having reinforced tyres fitted and he didn't get back to me! Has it affected the ride quality at all? Any chance of a full side on piccie ?? Tempted...VERY tempted..about to move house and may have to factor in a set of these onto the new mortgage !!!

Hi MARKY heres pic you wanted a side on sorry pic not very good crap camera and the car needed a good wash the tyres are FUTURA 225/40/18,S and are marked heavy load reinforced the only differance i noticed is cornering grip and traction other than that the ride is the same just keep your misses away from the curbs if you buy some mine is allready on her second warning he he!!!!!!,The other pic is just to show how mad i am on fords 200bhp FIESTA RS and a 58,000 mile ESCORT RS 1600I SHOW CAR and the VR6 GALAXY mad or what.

Cheers Andy, they look really smart and I don't think you need to rush out and get it lowered, looks great as it is.....just to confirm the supplier...LTC, Stourbridge?

 

Problem is though...I still like the RS4's as well !!! :P
