Guest afrancis Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Just about to buy a KA but have been warned that the body colour bumpers may have been primed and sprayed by the present owner and were originally the ordinary grey bumpers, not what I want at all. Anyone have advice on what to look for? The best way to tell if these bumpers have been re-sprayed or not? Cheers! Andy Francis
Ivor_E_Tower Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 Look underneath the Ka and see if the inside faces of the bumpers have been painted....Depends - on the old Citroen BX, for instance, the original colour bumpers were moulded in the relevant colour, but any replacements (eg after crash damage) were grey and sprayed to suit.Don't know about the Ka in great detail - I thought that only the "special editions" had colour coded bumpers.
HJT Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 If it's a Ka Collection or Luxury, then these have body colour bumpers as standard. Not sure about the earlier version (i.e. the 1,2 and 3) I have a feeling the body colour bumpers were introduced later. Howard
Guest DervMan Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 I might be a bit late for this... But the bumpers are a different shape. Collection ones protrude a little bit more - it's quite subtle, but if you know what to look for you can tell. Perhaps you need to check out some Kas at a Ford dealership to compare the difference?
