Guest tisme Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 I have to keep ducking my head to make sure I can see what speed I Quote
wonkydog Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 Have you tried altering the seat hight? Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 Or adjusting the steering wheels height and distance from the dash? Quote
Dally Posted April 20, 2005 Report Posted April 20, 2005 Very badly designed indeed. I have to compromise between best instrument visibility and physical comfort. Quote
Guest BCA Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 Got to agree with Tisme and Dally, I like to sit high up with the steering wheel low down and as far into the dash as poss, all I get to see of the clocks is the top of the fuel guage and temp guage, unless I do above the legal m/way speeds. Any lower down with the seat or up with the wheel and I don't feel like I'm in proper control of the old Gal. I wonder if Ford will ever take note of these comments and make a Mk 3 Gal with possibly centrally mounted clocks, can`t say there isn't enough room on the dash to do this. Had the new shape Nissan Primera with clocks centrally mounted got to say it was excellent, plus father in-law has X-Trail and loves it the clocks in this position! Food for thought? BCA Quote

Andrew T Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 Perhaps I'm cynical, but I think that placing the clocks in the centre has little to do with giving the driver better visibility, it's done to reduce the tooling costs of producing differant fascias for left and right hand drive markets. Guest asylumhouse Posted April 27, 2005 Report Posted April 27, 2005 and i thought i was the only one with that problem( not seeing what speed i am doing because of the steering wheel being in the line of the instumentation) i know smart alecs will say" move the steering wheel" but why have adjustable steering if you cannot position it where you want and have good vision of the speedo?
