Guest popeye Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 Hi guys, i've put this in the mondeo section as well but thought i would ask in the specialist ICE area I've bought a mondeo S reg saloon, very happy with it, lovely car but its from an auction and came with a standard tape player stereo which i belive is double din (chunky square shape) and has no stereo code with it I've got a good stereo that i love a lot which came out my old car, a sony mini disc x plod with a 10 disk mp3/cd changer however its i believe single din (standard rectangle head unit) so now to my question, is it possible to convert whats already in my mondeo to the stereo system i already have? would it be possible to attach the cd changer ive already got to the mondeo stereo if i got it recoded? Guest vr6galaxy Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 The Ford 3/4/5/6000 series of radio's are 1.5 din, if you wish to install your single din sony unit you can get adapters and blanking plates to fill the holes from most good ICE stockists Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 And if by magic what pops up on Ebay a fitting kit for single din units for Galaxy's and Mondeo's <_< Quote

Guest stevebm1 Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 4 long nails will do the trick, ive used this many times in the past to remove duff stereo's,usually about 3 inches long is enough,as long as they are thin enough to fit through the holes in the stereo Quote
