dave_m Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 I have a 51 plate 1.9tdi galaxy. I have a problem where i lose all power and the car will not get any faster, if i drop down a gear the revs go up but the car stilll does not get any faster. Turning the ignition off and on again clears the problem for a while. any help would be appreciated as i don't want to get ripped off by ford again!!!! Quote

dave_m Posted April 18, 2005 Author Report Posted April 18, 2005 Where can i get a replacement MAF Sensor, i don't really want to pay ford prices for one, someone suggested GSF but i am not sure which one i would need as there are a few listed. <_< Quote
Brinkman Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 Try phoning your nearest GSF or Euro Car Parts branch. Euro Car parts sell a lot more parts at the branches than their website would suggest. If you give them the engine type number they should be able to help.I would imagine they are both bound to be cheaper than Ford Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted April 18, 2005 Report Posted April 18, 2005 VW may even be cheaper as they do an exchange system on MAF's :D Quote
GSMGuy Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 THIS GUY ON EBAY seems ok, has a load of different MAF's from about Quote
GSMGuy Posted April 19, 2005 Report Posted April 19, 2005 Checkout the price of the maf for a punto GT RRP Quote
dave_m Posted April 19, 2005 Author Report Posted April 19, 2005 Having showed the problem to a mate he seems to think that the turbo is not operating as the car still has its full rev range but no quick accelleration, i can't see it would be a leak in any of the turbo pipes as the problem is intermittent and can be cleared with a flick on/off of the ignition.. Could it still be the MAF? If i unplug the MAF whilst i have the problem occurring what result should i get? any other thoughts??? Cheers, Dave Quote
