Hi everyone,

Well, after two weeks of Galaxy ownership I'm gradually getting familiar with it's foibles. ( Is that the right word?) Already it appears that the air con is duff.....what a surprise.I'm getting it re gassed this coming week and am hoping that it cures it's indifference no doubt it will only search out more weaknesses in the system! See how pessimistic reading the posts on this website make you !!!

Anyway, can someone tell me what the electrical thingy is that sits in the headliner adjacent to the middle of the hatch door? It has 3 wires going to it and has the following hyroglyphics written upon it. PA.12, PA 6-GF 30. It's basically a little plastic box with a dome on it. I feel it should have some sort of cover on it but this is missing. The car by the way is a 2.8 Ultima.I await with interest your prognoses.

Cheers ,

Steve S.

Sounds like the reciever for the remote, you should have two of them? one up front near the rear view mirror and the one near the rear hatch

Aaaaaaah..... so thats what it is! Yes there is a similar unit hiding behind the mirror.

I've only owned cars with one of these (in the front) Well thats a load of my mind!

Unfortunately I wasn't given a remote control with the car.. Either lost or never had one. I can't think how I could find out either ..Any ideas? Also any suggestions where I might come across the missing surround? Is it likely to be available at the main dealer for eg. or is a scrapyard a good bet?

Try the dealers for the cover, you could be lucky? if not its a breakers yard part, as for not haveing a remote the Ultima came standard with factory fitted remote locking and alarm so again it case of getting hold of the correct key fob and programing it in
