Blanking Pates For Rear Seat Holes?

Hi folks..I have just joined and I am trying to find out where i can get the blanking plates that cover the holes when you take the seats out. (to stop all the muck falling in the holes)

 

I have seen some on Ebay so i know they exist

 

I went to the local Ford parts and tried to find them there...but the bloke behind the desk couldn`t find the part number!!!

 

Any ideas

As you say either Ebay or your local dealers, the VW part number is, from what I can see and it's hard to tell what the actual item is on the parts picture! ;)

but listed in the seats, backrest and headrest in passenger compartment section listed as 7M3 881 087 COVER and it looks like it could be the right part ;)

you could always ask the guy on ebay the part number?

Fraud don't have a part number for the blanking plates, basically because they don't offer them!

 

I beleive you will find that they are cheaper from your local VW or Seat dealer than they go for on eBay, in a similar way to speaker grilles.

Hello! I might be able to help you out with the blanking plates. I just actually bought some from someone selling them on Ebay. You could email them to see if they have any more. The ones I bought are the light coloured ones, although I know you can get dark grey ones as well.

I bought mine from a VW dealer in Spalding (Crowsons) at less than 40p each which is a complete set of 24 for around

Ive just popped down the VW parts and yes the above parts number from Vr6. appears to be the business.

 

Ive got 24 on order and they are priced at 38p each! I`ll let everyone know if they are definitely the part...but they sure look like it.

Did you get a look at the screen for the parts list? :o if you did you can see how difficult it is to see exactly what that part is? :lol: glad to hear I may have got the right part :lol:

when I used the parts list to order the anti roll bar bushes for my Galaxy it wasn't till after they turned up that we found out that there are two sizes of anti roll bar! 50mm and 53mm :huh: the larger size being the sport one, luckily they fit the larger diameter version on the VR6 as standard :D so I unknowingly ordered the correct parts :o

so next time you pop into the dealers to order some parts cut the guy behind the counter some slack because its not that easy to read the parts listing at times and things don't necessarily go in the sections you would think they would :lol:

I looked at the parts picture at the parts department in both the Ford Parts dept and the VW Dept. Both are confusing..but it appears that Ford dont do the blanking plates...well they werent on the same diagram anyway.

Brill, just ordered mine from VW, did not know they existed. Result, 1 less use for duck tape at least.

 

VW seem very pleased to help. Shame Fraud can't treat "valued" customers in the same way. Said they would look into a "supplier" for me & get this... came back with

Anyway..just picked up 24 covers for the seat holes to fit my Gal. They are the business.

 

Vr6 was spot on with the part number (from a VW stockest Part number: 7M3 881 087)

 

They cost me 32 p each excluding VAt...for the 24 it cost

The part number is for the part then there is the option of 3 trim colours.

 

Ive a black Gal..so i chose the anthracite trims and they match perfect.

then add the appropriate colour code:

T21 - Beaver

U71 - Flannel Grey

J51 - Lagoon

 

Hope this clears things up.

After reading this post I too went to the local VW dealer and ordered some for my Gal

The store person had not heard of them before and called the sales manager over to tell him about them and he said to get some stock in as he would mention them to any customer buying a Sharan from now on

Hi...ordered a set of 25 today (1 spare ;) ) as an addition to

the colour codes that Vee Dub posted, here is the full part number

and colour code for the Anthracite ones that Mutley got...

 

 

Part No: 7M3 881 087 Colour Code: 71N

 

 

None in stock and on back order from VW !!

 

I think they've had a bit of a run on these !!

 

Thanks to VR6 for the original info, you were right about the

VW parts system...looked worse than the Ford one which isn't

Just been with my local VW dealer in Belfast. They're out of stock of plates and say there are only 10 left in the UK... got 'em for 32p each.

 

According to the stores guy: "... they seem to be going crazy for these things in England... dunno what's causing it mate..."
