How many of you folks have had your Tdi's chipped? How far have you chipped it to? Is it worth it? Has any one bought one of these cheap chips off E-bay--what do you think? I've found that my 115 is a bit breathless when pulling off up a hill and onto a dual carriage way near us, is this normal???

Lots of questions, as ever my thanks and gratitude to all those who reply

Lo Jim

115 certainly shouldn't be breathless pulling up a hill, mine used to romp up them, before I chipped her... Fitted a Speedbuster to mine - not cheap @ around

It'll easily exceed 80+. Sometimes when on the flat it flies along and you're doing 80 with out knowing it, but its just on the hills it just doesn't seem to have oomph.

It might just be me I don't know, the only experience I've got of recent turbo diesels is a 2.0ltr. Astra which was quick. Chipping is something I'll consider when funds allow(in say 10 years!!!) :(

I've got one of the cheap ones from Ebay and its the best buy I've made. A lot more omph right through the range and better MPG's as well. When I took it off for its service I really noticed the difference.

My Galaxy on a run to the cost was finding it a bit hard on the inclines. got it up to 95 ish, but does 80 easy takes time to build up the speed.

however mine is due its major service, could this be why it lacks power?

Hmmmm. I'm assuming SA Intruder doesn't post on here anymore. He used to have a lot to say about chipping and none of it good.

Am i able to get anything for my 2.8 v6 ghia auto??( always a mouthful!! :D )

i can cruise at 100mph and have reached 117 without my foot down( only on track test conditions of course!!! )

the down side to this is the 14-22mpg i,m getting, even on a good day at 60-65mph i can only get 25mpg, so maybe its not the speed you can do but the money on fuel you are saving on your diesels <_<

( as a side question is this car a 135bhp??)
