OK, just got back on my chair now!

 

 

My belt broke (110bhp engine) and I had to have the head off, 8 lifters, 8 valves, new belt & rollers, gaskets, anti freeze, oil filter etc, the whole lot cost me

Where do they get their prices - Just had a look at repair times on Autodata.

 

Changing the cambelt and tensioner on a 2003 PD is quoted at 2.4 hours, (not 2hrs 40min)

 

On an earlier model it's 2.90 hrs for some reason.

 

Now I'm presuming dealers charge

Phoned the SEAT dealer that serviced my vehicle for the previous owner and they informed me that the cambelt was not changed at 40,000 miles. The person I spoke said that they do them at 60,000.
