Hi all

Have today piched up my 2001 1.9 auto ghia and so far have been pleased, B) Aircon all works OK B) , not sure yet about the auxillery heater other that to say yes it is under the floor :o

The only real problem I can find is when the global window operation is used to open/close all the windows the rear N/S window will raise if I open it in advance but will not open if it is closed B) , Could it need re registering with the control CPU? any thoughts out there

Cheers in advance Andy.

If your remote key fob locks and unlocks the doors then no, it should operate the global closure system as described in the hand book, have you tried it to see if it works?

Only the earlier infra-red remotes (up to 1997) operate the global closure! The later radio type do not.

Hi Guys

All this is very interesting but back to the original question, Do the electric windows have to be coded to the car? If so does anyone know the procedure on VAG COM.

Cheers Andy.

Question - does the one touch up function work from the N/S window switch itself? If not, the cause is probably due to the anti-pinch function losing its calibration - if this happens the one touch up is inhibited until the window regulator has been recalibrated. Consequently, it won't work with the Global Close either.

My recollection is that the window regulator can be recalibrated with ignition on, simply by manually closing the window until the glass drives into the seal and the motor stalls and then doing the same for opening. Not 100% sure about the procedure but I think there could be something about this in the handbook.

Nothing needs to be programmed if the window fails to operate check that the wires in looms to door are ok

this is where ALL thr faults lie
