Cold Running Problems

B) Hi, I have a galaxy 1.9 tdi pd engine 2oo1 115 bhp with 71k on clock,with cold running problems. When you start the engine up from cold ie left over night ,it misfires or runs on 3 cylenders very rough and this continues even when hot, if the engin is not turned off during the warm up running time.If you run the engine up from stone cold (running rough &misfire ) for approx 15mins and turn off, then restart it runs perfect all day stopping and starting, unless left to cool down over night or for approx 5 hours.Then problem starts again.

My local Ford dealer have had the galaxy today, they have diagnosed it as a faulty N.o 1 injector, at the price of

Sounds more like a glow plug problem to me.

Perhaps they are saying it is the cam-driven unit-injector that is the problem?

 

That is a major job to change, requiring four special tools.
