Guest spender_uk Posted June 13, 2003 Report Posted June 13, 2003 Hi. I'd like to add a line in for audio+video to my galaxy (2003 model), so that I can connect my Ipaq/Video Camera (etc.) Sat Nav, system say's that it allows input selection to an Aux source. However. On speaking to 'friendly' car hi-fi installers they say as I haven't got the tv-tuner in galaxy, to add a line in its going to be about Quote
879JTT Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 Hi, I would also like to plug a PDA into the back of my sat nav unit, through the aux socket.Did you have any luck? I have had great problems in removing the sat nav unit, however I can locate the aux socket on the rear of the unit by removing the climate control unit. What I need to know is what pin on the plug does what, so I can have the lead made up. Hope you can be of assistance. Regards Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 Try searching for posts by Jakey247. He was the acknowledged expert on connecting video signals etc to the satnav system. Haven't seen anything from him recently though. Quote
Dally Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 It's not a matter of just a lead. The sat nav tft screen runs on digital signal. What you get for your Quote
Guest 53Ghia Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 If anyone is interested there is a Soundlinx V/A interface to add video and audio to the RNS4 sat/nav unit here for sale. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...MESSE%3AIT&rd=1 Quote
Dally Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 I would recommend this to anyone with the RNS sat nav kit. I have used mine for connecting a camcorder and regularly use this for listening to my minidisc player. When I get round to it and buy my kit, it will also connect to a dvd setup! (someday) Quote
879JTT Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004  AAAHHH. Have this morning ordered a Soundlinx V/A interface, should arrive Saturday ish. To my horror tonight I discover the above message with the link to ebay. Could have saved myself a few quid if I checked out the forum first. Just goes to show the forum is the place to be.WARNING: Before you purchase anything for your Gal, checkout this forum first!! Quote
879JTT Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 :( Have over the Easter weekend fitted the interface into the back of my Sat Nav unit. The kids think having Noddy, Tweenies and Postman pat coming through the speakers is great. For me the driver after hearing Post man Pat for the 10th time, I think I am driving his van!!However would most definitely recommend the interface to all you owners of the sat nav/multimedia option. Ivor_E_Tower Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Next job then is to find a black and white cat and secure it to the front passenger seat....Then, big question, where can you buy a peaked cap from? Quote
879JTT Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Hi, Have recently purchased a portable Mp3 player and have plugged it into my Sat/Nav unit via a interface. Who needs cd players anymore and why don't the manufactures integrate an MP3 player into the head unit as an option. It sounds great, so no more cds cluttering up the floor. Quote
