mikb Posted April 4, 2005 Report Posted April 4, 2005 Hi all, I have an 02 galaxy and when i use the wipers in intermittant mode they work ok for a while then seem to change to constant wiping without me touching them. There is no definate pattern to this, just when it feels like it!Any help would be appreciated.Thanks. Quote
mikb Posted April 4, 2005 Author Report Posted April 4, 2005 Sure is, it cant be the only Galaxy doing this. Can anyone help? Quote
Guest stawarz Posted April 5, 2005 Report Posted April 5, 2005 Had a Volvo 480 many a year ago that had built in fuzzy logic to switch the wipers to continuous if they are on intermitant and you're accelerating hard (i.e. to wipe away the excess when passing a lorry). Can't say I've noticed a similar behaviour on my '02 Gal'. Would be a welcome addition though! Quote
mikb Posted April 7, 2005 Author Report Posted April 7, 2005 The manual does not say anything about rain sensors. The actual control arm for the wiper has a further control on top to adjust wipe time, but in the manual it states to turn wiper on one wipe then off then on at desired time to set intermittant. This should reset after restarting engine.Presumably it is this switch? Quote
Marky Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 If your wipers are on (contstant) and you come to crawl/stop they willstop/change to intermittent to save the wiper motor, they will resumenormal operation when you pick up speed again. The first upward clickof the arm is intermittent wipe, the switch on the top adjusts the time delayfor the wipe...to the left for slower to the right for quicker.... HTH Quote
Dave-G Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 :) In short, as the car moves off (over 15mph iirc) the wipers "take it to the next level" Quote
