I was driving to work yesterday afternoon (I work shifts), closed all the windows and powered up the a/c. After a mile or two I noticed warm still coming through the vents and the air con light was on. I fiddled with buttons and dials , nothing. I gave up on it and nother mile or two further, suddenly , ice cold arctic polar air came gushing through????

I think it kicked in when I revved up the motor to get past a bus, have no clue what happened.

Could be an electronic glitch. There's a button on the floor under the accelerator pedal so that when you push right down, eg to get "kickdown" if you have an auto, the aircon is switched off so that maximum power is available for acceleration. If you activated this when passing the bus, then perhaps when you released the pedal, the glitch that was stopping your aircon was somehow cured.

this problem has become a constant one now, seems even though the air con is switched on , it only kicks in randomly- I can feel it when it does, then cold air a-plenty comes through

I had a look at the button under the Accelerator pedal , it was covered by a floor mat- took it out and hopefully thats will be the problem solved.

Will post the outcome
