Mk1 mondeo - i have a trip comp, a connector and a small amount of cable.

 

Mirezs site shows the pin outs - but they dont relate to the connector i have.

 

Which pin is the power? Mirez says 2 - but my connector doesnt have a wire there

This is a bit odd.

 

I used pin 2, and put a new wire in (where there wasn't one before) - and it worked.

 

The socket had not been used before, as the tabs had not been bent.

 

So on the car it came from, it must have worked another way - or just not worked......beats me.

 

Anyway, pin 2 is the 12v Positive. Ive only tested it on the bench. When its in the car and I know all the pins, ill let you all know. I have a feeling Mirez is correct, as the gnd,illumination,memory and power have so far been confirmed.

I followed Mirezs instructions, and it works perfectly. Still puzzled as to why there was no power lead. But it works.

 

Its a bit brainless in that when you take your foot off the gas for even a fraction of a second, the MPG goes up to 99 - which is perfectly true - your doing 50mph and only using idle fuel. It also displays 99MPG when using engine breaking (also true) - but i would have made it identify this, and not display it.

 

Good gadget to have - recommended
