Hi folks

Is there a VAG COM owner living in my area who would be kind enough to give my 99 Tdi Zetec Gal a go?

I have the dreaded ABS warning light syndrome, etc.

Cheers

Paul

Paul, I am in Aintree if you fancy a trip through the tunnel..

Mike

Thanks Mike

Having read other posts in the forum, (and before wasting your time). I will first check all the sensor cable connections as soon as I get a chance. If that simple task does not do the trick and there is nobody closer, I would very much like to accept your offer. I will get back to you soon.

Thanks again

Cheers

Paul

Its good to see other members on here from the Liverpool area, I'm in Huyton.

Any of you guys need to get together to check problems out feel free to email me.

Had my Gal for a couple of years and seemed to have experienced most of the common problems.

Hi Paul

I'am in Great Sutton if any one wants to use my Vag Com.

If you check the wiring with a Multi meter you should have about 1.04Kohms any thing greater its suspect.

Email me if you want any help.

Hi Guys

Many thanks for your offers and help.

Yesterday T120 used his VAG Com on my Gal and we immediately found the problem ....... G47 LH front brake sensor intermittent.

When I removed the cable connector under the wheel arch it parted with the wires - they had cracked and split away at the point where the rubber holder ends.

Today I stripped and soldered the ends of the wires and refitted the connector.

First I was dismayed when I turned on the ignition :( because the dash warning lights went out one by one (as they should after completing their checks) EXCEPT FOR THE ABS LIGHT !!!!!

Ignition off - wait a while - ignition back on - still the same.

Maybe my soldering was not as good as I thought it was?

..... Go for a run around the block. After driving a few yards down the road the ABS light went off - EUREKA ! :( .... FANTASTIC. Now it goes out each time as it should after doing its self-check when I turn on the ignition.

Thanks very much T120

As a result of this event, I have decided to get myself a VAG Com as soon as I have the pennies.

Cheers

Paul
