Guest a1galaxy Posted March 29, 2005 Report Posted March 29, 2005 Had the brake pads replaced recently by non Ford garage, now when I brake the high pitched squeal is incredible it makes heads turn. Have taken the Galaxy back to garage and they have cleaned out the brakes (for free) that improved problem for a short while. Also rear brake sometimes squeals while driving along without foot on the brake pedal. Help would be appreciated as the noise is driving me mad. Quote
johnb80 Posted March 29, 2005 Report Posted March 29, 2005 Coat the back of the pad and both sides of the anti squeal shim(if fitted ????) with copper based grease (coppaslip). That should give a complete cure. Regards - John Quote
Topbloke Posted March 29, 2005 Report Posted March 29, 2005 were the pads a good quality , i know that they fit what they want and do it for a price and you only get what your given but there is a lot of difference between brake linnings ie hard compound, soft ,etc you could ask what make of pad were fitted ,ie brake master, girling, ferrodo etc, the garage that i work for fit the cheapest that they can get and the customer has no choice. personaly i would take the car back and ask them to try a different make off pad ,maybe even go for a genuine set from a dealer .The garage can get them for you and still make a profit but it will cost more, however what price can you put on a safety item like brakes Quote
