dfh101 Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 Its been going wonky all week, now its not working at all. Also : Neither of the two front heated seats are workingThe drivers side passenger window does not workNeither of the 2 12v outlets are working in the boot The only thing I have done recently is to change the two front H7 bulbs with osram silver stars last weekend a one of the H7's had blown. I checked under the drivers seat for wetness but its dry, there are no fuses under there only some cables and a couple of connectors. Any Help or pointers would be appreciated, Its a X reg facelifted sharan. DFH4NP :o Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 Heated seats...... unusual for both to fail at the same time! check the fuses, then the relay, then check you have power to the switches, then check the plugs to the seats, IIRC they are under the seats in the cubby holes? Drivers side rear window....... most common cause if the failure of the cable in the loom to the door from the B post, peel back the rubber boot and check out the cables for signs of fatique? Rear power sockets......... again check the fuses, there are several posts on where the fuses are? either under the drivers seat or in the fuse board depending on the model Quote
dfh101 Posted March 28, 2005 Author Report Posted March 28, 2005 Thanks, Checked all of the fuses, none blown. The wife has just informed me that the indicators are not working either, Do you know where the relays are and what do they do? Many Thanks DFH4NP Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Sounds like our having fun NOT! if yours is a post face lifted version then according to the TIS there are two relays for the indicators! K199 LHD and K200 RHD dont ask me where they are? check out the eathing points up behind the dash? if its like the MK1 these are plugs that plug into a main earthing panel above the fuse board, these are used to provide earthing points for the relays and switches, also check out the main fuses in the fuse box in the engine bay!
