Guest jus Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 Noticed a crack/blister in the paint on the sill of 2003 Galaxy. On inspection paint flaked off revealing a small (1 x 0.5cm) patch of rust. Is this covered by the warranty? Jus Quote
_dg Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 I have a couple of paint blisters - one up by the roof rail and one by the rear window seal. Any recomendations for the best treatment product? Quote
Masked Marauder Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 I have a couple of paint blisters - one up by the roof rail and one by the rear window seal. Any recomendations for the best treatment product? Take it back to clean metal, prime with a self-etching high zinc primer, then some high build primer, flat it off and spray it in. It is the only way, nothing else works. Quote
delboyt Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 rutyon the account of the age of ur gal itshould still be under warranty for the paint asit's working it's way from inside to outsideif it happens agan try popping the bubble & check if water comes out if it doe'sit's a biggy job to sort as it usually happens on the seals & wheel archesof most cars.my advice is take it back to where you got it & get them to sort it outi have been a paint sprayer for 25 yrs & it's the norm to sort out under warranty in this sort of case.if you do it yourself then do the followingremove any liners under the archesremove old sealant/body protectionclean & reusproof then make good the reapir &replace everything you have removed but re seal all bare metal& check it over whilst you are working on itdo the same for all arches but it's usually the rear one's that give the trouble Quote
