GT40Graham Posted March 26, 2005 Report Posted March 26, 2005 I was looking to buy a luggage net for my Gal until I found that you couldn't buy the thing except as a factory-fitted option as part of the versatility pack. I have the tonneau cover although I never use it. If anybody has the luggage net fitted, could you possibly post a pic of it in place as I'm curious to see how the upper fixings work. Hopefully this will give me some ideas so that I can adapt one to fit. Quote

If you do a search, you will find photos of my home-made version - a trailer luggage cover net from a camping store, plus IIRC 4 Carabiners (?) the oval clip-loop thingys also from camping stores, 2 lower ones go onto the lower rearmost seatbelt mounting points (the small rails) and the 2 upper ones I hook through the rearmost seatbelt tongues (when the belts aren't in use). Guest vr6galaxy Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 I have a pukka Ford one :D I dont have the mounting hooks in the side panels though :D to be honest we have never ever used it :o the load cover how ever is a different matter, the wife say that is the second best modification I have made to our Galaxy :D it's only beaten by the DVD system that keeps the kids quite when we go out :D Quote

Not really a 'luggage net' it kinda drapes acrossthe tailgate aperture behind seats 6/7 (if you've got them in) so you couldput a couple of light coats, kids toys etc in it to stop them rolling around thecar....if I get chance tomorrow I'll set it up and post a couple of piccies... as vr6 said..the load cover is the best part of the versatility pack....and the coat hangers.....toy bag is rubbish though !!! I have them stashed in a box on the top shelf in the garage, in the box is a big bore exhaust rear box for the Galaxy, a rear spoiler, a luggage net and two coat hangers :o one day I will get round to fitting/using them all :D Quote

NikpV Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 We use ours sometimes, useful for keeping all the coats and the buggy upright behind seats 6&7 when we take my parents out with the kids - like to leave the middle row center seat out for picnic stuff, parents poodle etc. Works well the net stops all the junk falling out when opening the tailgate.
