This is possibly a daft question

I have a MK1 (97) Galaxy with a CD player and cubby hole beneath the heater controls in the centre console.

If I was to buy a double DIN DVD/CD unit (e.g. something like this) does anyone know whether it would fit?

Thanks.

yes but you may have to saw out the black piece of plastic in the middle, which divides the 2 din holes.I did in-order to install a ford 6000cd in my mark 1

IIRC the 6000 + series is din and a half, they will fit but you will need a filler strip to finish off the job, IIRC the gap left after fitting is aproximately 2cm, you may be able to get a filler strip from a ICE shop?

6000 series are unique size for Fords, about DIN-and-a-half, definitely NOT full double DIN. Wiring plugs may be the same - there is now supposed to be a DIN standard for them, depends on the age of the previous design etc.

you can get an adapter from halfords for the wiring loom to convert it to fit a 6000cd,or alternately go to the scrapyard and get a ford wiring loom.yes it will involve cutting the wires, but it will be cheaper than the

Hello, yes I was gonna ask the same question about fitting in a double din unit. But I was thinking more on the lines of 2 units (Screen + DVD). And I was also about to purchase from TG Online. Has anyone seen their feedback? Some of it seems dodgy.. Anyway, I'm still searching around like mad for a quad headlight conversion. I won't be able to sleep untill I find one for abt

You can remove the storage bin and slot in a another unit, and as for the head lights your first in the queue for a set after me  mind you, looking for a set could be on the back burner as I have just found an OE add on air con kit for my MK2 Golf :o mmm, let's see, see better in the dark or sit in cool air in my half leather seats,? it's a hard choice
