Help is my A/C possessed? I bought the 2.3 auto Galaxy registered Oct

The climate control on my dual aircon 2002 Galaxy does speed the fan up and down and change the temperature of the air coming out but it is not a large shift each time. This is quite normal as it is trying to maintain a constant cabin temperature. If the fan speed and temperature change is very dramatic and very often then I suspect you have a dodgy temperature sensor.

Hi Dave,

My '98 2.3 has a similar problem. But I know the a/c was working before, because I tested it. However, when I went to colect the car from the dealer, the batt. was dead. They just re-charged it and sent me on my way.

But the a/c is not working now; not even heating. The fans and vents seem to be working correctly.

I feel certain that either the control unit has got confused, or damaged due to the voltage fluctuations, when the batt. went flat, or during the recharging.

Unfortunately, my warranty covers only the compressor, not the control system.

What might be useful is the posting on "Climate Control Fault Codes" (search!), which might allow the control to be put into a diagnostic mode. Haven't tried it out yet.

Best wishes,

Yuri.

Hi SA Intruder,

Where would this diag procedure be ?

Tried searching for "diag and aircon"

Many thanks,

Yuri.
