28galaxy Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 Hi all Been reading the fourm 4 a while now and its come in very usefull.Anyway, i've brought some new tinted glass quite cheap infact Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 You will need to unclip the aerial plug from the drivers side window, then look at the very rear of the opening window (D post end) there should be a screw attaching either the latch or opening rod (if powered openers) to the glass? undo this, if you cant get at this screw remove the D post trim and undo the bolts holding the latch or motor in place and remove the whole mech, next lift away the trim from the C post, under here are the two mounting bolts for the front end of the window, remove these and it should fall off! Quote
Topbloke Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 on the c pillar is a black plastic trim this will need to be removed, its only stuck on with thick double sided tape and can be pulled of fairly easily if you warm the trim with a hair dryer, behind there are two screws/bolts , its really a two person job but can be done on your own if you are brave  Quote
28galaxy Posted March 26, 2005 Author Report Posted March 26, 2005 got the glass out but does any body know how to remove the metal hinge that holds the rear quarter glass on to the c pillar,or do i need a new hinge Quote
Topbloke Posted March 26, 2005 Report Posted March 26, 2005 if you are talking mk 1 then there is a screw through a hole in the glass with a small rubber gasket Quote
28galaxy Posted March 26, 2005 Author Report Posted March 26, 2005 if you are talking mk 1 then there is a screw through a hole in the glass with a small rubber gasketim talking about the other end of the glass where u ave a metal strip running downthe full height of the glass i would add pic but not worked that out yet Quote
