Guest wrampo Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 I have an airlock in the cooling system and cannot fill the system properly. I have fitted new radiator new thermostat, flushed system, checked for blockages etc. etc. I left the rad cap off overnight three months ago, and in the morning i was able to fill the system with approx 8 litres of water. All fine till last week. I lost water because of a leak. cured leak but am unable again to fill system with enough water. I have even used one of the new vacuum fillers without total success. Quote
Guest mrtonywade Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 you are going to have to remove one off the water pipes, simply undo one of the clips and pull it of, then top it up,hope this helpsregards tony Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted June 12, 2003 Report Posted June 12, 2003 You have remembered to set the heater to "maximum", I hope........ Quote
Guest p1948040 Posted June 17, 2003 Report Posted June 17, 2003 you need to get the engine warmed up and give it lots of revs with the system vented - not too hot, but warm enough to get the thermostat open. Rev the engine hard and keep topping up, thats worked for me on all cars. Quote
