Guest thecodfly Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 hi i had similar problem with a vectra window it would only go up or down if i pushed it, if this is what is happening with yours try some silicon spray around the window rubbers works a treat sorted my window out fine, it was just getting stuck Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 You need to take the door card off to investigate; arm yourself with some new card clips, a used kitchen spatula (wooden) that you can modify to prize the card off etc etc....You may be lucky and find that the motor and serrated drive thingy have come apart - on the other hand, the drive thingy may be worn which means a whole new unit....... Quote
vortex Posted March 18, 2005 Author Report Posted March 18, 2005 thanks for replies. I am trying to get the door panel off , Ive popped the panel clips out of there seating , but having problem getting the panel away from the handle etc, are there any hidden screws holding the inner door handle and plastic surround, thanks again Quote
Guest neil_wiles Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 Vortex You need to remove the escutcheon plate from around the door release handle as there is a screw inside the plastic surround that secures the handle section to thte door frame. when you have removed the panel you may well find the cable has broken and has left the sleeve (about 25 mm diameter rubber, ribbed) dangling in the air, if this is the case a new assembly will be needed and they are not cheap. If you do a search for "electric windows" there have been many threads regarding these faults as they appear to be quite common. Good Luck Quote
Guest stevebm1 Posted March 18, 2005 Report Posted March 18, 2005 could be something obstructing the glass inside the runners,i had this on an espace(sorry i swore) once,a bic pen lid was jammed in the runner.removing it solved the problem Quote
