Hi everyone,

Two new faults to fix this week.

Front windscreen wipers have stopped working altogether(trying to clear the smallest amount of snow off! I think I will clean by hand next time).

Checked the fuse :looks ok

Wipers move by hand fairly easily.

I have read some posts about the spindles seizing (they wouldn't move by hand if they were seized? would they).

Could it be the relay in the fuse box? Should you be able to hear the relay clicking away when in intermittent mode if it is a mechanical fault? I cannot hear it working.

Problem number 2: The lock on the drivers door is just turning round and not locking or unlocking, I am having to use other doors to unlock the car.

Do you have any advice on wether it is easy to fix and how. I have had the door casing off and cannot see much.

All help greatly appreciated.

p.s a quick update.

When the wipers are on the fast setting every time you turn the ignition on and off the wipers move about half an inch further up the screen. Now thats weird.

Hope you can help,

lift the cap on the bottom of the wiper arm and tighten up the 13mm nut the arms are suposed to give when frozen to the screen rather than strip the motor gears the only other thing that may have happened is one of the rods have jumped of the ball not unknown and has been covered before, usually involving self tepping screws , if you lift the bonnet you should see the mechanism, word of warning make sure that the wipers are turned off and ing off when working with the wipper motor mech as i have seen peple lose fingers, when it suddenly starts working :D

If both the wipers move when you move one arm, then the splines on the motor are either stripped out or the clamp to the motor spindle needs tightening.

The door lock issue. The internal door card will have to come off.
