I agree with Dave(the ref),

for the amount of time that you expect it to be on the car (touch wood :huh: )

I'd agree that a steel would be best for a spare.

 

I have recently seen a local car with a yellow space saver - must have been a gas conversion vehicle with no space under the car. I have to say I would not risk this solution.
