I have had a galaxy ghia 2.3 for one month and when I opened the petrol cap for the first time. it said diesel on the inside of the cover. I have spoke to the ford garage I bought the car from and was told that it is just an oversite by fords and is OK. my question is that every time I put petrol in the car the petrol pump always clicks and so I have to have the nozzle just right so that it doesnt keep clicking. Am I right in thinking that depending on what you car runs on diesel or Unleaded the opening is differant sizes and also colour coded ( my opening is black) as I remeber on my old focus that their was a green rim around the pipe. Am I wrong before I make a fool of myself at Fords.

Thanks in Advance

Does the filling station unleaded pump fit snuggly in the petrol filler?

If it does then it is an unleaded filler as a diesel pump filler would not fit.

If it's a loose fit and it looks like you could get a larger filler in then its probably a diesel filler.

I have a 2.3 petrol and my filler is black, it states fuel type (unleaded) on the inside of the flap.

Hope this clears things up for you.

Common thing when filling up, I find that haveing the handle of the nozzle facing upwards and towards the rear of the car helps or not haveing it fully inserted also helps!
