Changing The Dipped Beam Bulb

Does anyone know how to remove the headlight unit to change the dipped beam bulb on a 2001 sharan

 

I have removed 2 screws on the top of the unit that had plastic covers on them, this has loosened the unit but it wont come out any further.

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

There are two screws at the bottom of each side of the headlight, slacken these off do not remove them. You will need a long stardrive screwdriver to reach them.

 

Others on the forum say you don't have to remove the unit but I found it almost impossible the change the bulb otherwise.

Don't know if you have a mk1 or mk2 but on my mk 2 it's a 5 min job to change the H7's (dipped) on wither side WITHOUT removing the unit.
