Guest WOZZA Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 Can any one help? i bought the galaxy two years ago, and touch wood have never had a puncture!but two months ago i had to replace the rear brake pads. When i got out the locking nut key (from the packet) the pattern sheered straight off! so i spent the best part of the day chisseling them off. as you can imagine i made a lot of damage to the alloys! the main dealer told me that they had a set of master keys.the other day i thought i would have a toddle along to the dealers to get them to remove the front ones, (front locking nuts). they did not have a key to fit and telephoned the vw and seat dealers that are local, and they couldnt help neither. as you can imagine iam not looking forward to chisseling off thed front locking nuts! cos the damage it causes the dealer basically told me to f**k off, and cos its no longer under warranty its up to me to remove them! B*****s. does any one have any ideas??????????????????? Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 Hammer a socket onto them and when it's really well stuck, undo them, it worked on mine when I lost the key <_< also do search on the topic as there is a link to a couple of places that sell a special tool for doing this! Quote
Marky Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 I think Draper make a set of removal sockets which lock over the bolt to enable you to get them off....or hammer a 19mm socket onto thestud...or pop down to yor local friendly tyre centre and they'll get them off, most off them keep a set of the aforementioned tool. When you have got themoff go and get four standard wheel bolts and you'll never have troubleagain! As these removal tools are cheap and readily available it kindamakes a mockery of having them fitted anyway!!! Quote
Topbloke Posted March 12, 2005 Report Posted March 12, 2005 if you are in the AA most of the patrols carry a removal kit explain that you have a puncture and have lost the key or better still tell them that the fraud dealer lost it , if you are not in the AA you must have a mate whom was traveling with you when you had the puncture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
