Guest kenji4444 Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 Hi, In my Galaxy 2.3LX, 03reg, I have standard OE 4050 cassette/radio. Does anyone know if a 6006e 6 disc CD/Radio unit (6 cd changer in dash) will fit as a direct replacement? Cheers for any advice, Ken. Quote
Marky Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 Yep...straight swap...enjoy !!!! Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted February 27, 2005 Report Posted February 27, 2005 As Marky says it's a straight swap  but be carefull of which model you get as the Galaxy version has a flat front, where as other models dont they have a curved front to match the dash shape better! mind you the 4050 (rotary volume control model) is capeable of running a multi changer, that way you get the best of both worlds CD's and tapes Quote
Guest kenji4444 Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005  Thanks both u guys - Having looked around on the web, I see what u mean, VR6, re. the difference between a Fiesta/Focus/etc-type 6006e unit and a Galaxy one. The Galaxy has a sort-of raised flange around the front edge which makes the outer rim flatter on the face. I'll watch out for the Galaxy type, if I go for the 6006e. This unit does seem to be handy; I mean being able to load it from the driving seat rather than a changer in the back! But, next question; do you guys out there know if the cabling for a changer unit (in the flap-top bin, o/s rear) is run in as standard on my LX, or, if I go for a changer, do I have to run all associated cabling front to back - s'pose involving removal of doorsill trims, etc.? Marky Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Get in the back bin and have a look around for a spare cable!! Quote
GSMGuy Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Re the curved front - I've tonight fitted a 6006E to my 2002 Gal, facelift model, and it looks fine, tbh, it softens the look up a bit over the square 6000e model.. Mike Quote
