Hi all

I have a 1997 VW Sharan TDI (110). I have both the owners manual and a Haynes manual (Ford galaxy manual). Nowhere does it list the relays/numbers/ location/function etc.

Anyone know where i can find this ?

Reason is that when driving at night, I switch from dipped beam to main beam no problem, but sometimes it wil not switch back to dipped beam - it stays on full beam. I have to turn the rotary light switch to 'parking lights' for a second and then switch it back to normal position in order to return to diped beam. I suspect that the relay is probably 'latching' in the full beam mode and won't spring back to 'normal' mode

Has anyone come across this before ?

Cheers

Ferg

What is ETKA ?

By the way, anyone know what the relay under the passenger seat is ? It has number 79 written on it and is grey. I know it has something to do with the central locking but what exactly ?. Yet again, it is not mentioned in the Sharan handbook.

ETKA is VW's part listing system, I have it on CD but it is available online in Russian

the relay under the passenger seat is a load reduction relay, it's as you said for the rear hatch
