Just bought a 1998 2.3 Ghia X 7 seater.

According to the handbook, it is fitted with self-regulating air-conditioning which has controls for the front temp and rear temp however, there are no vents in the roof. Everything I've seen picture-wise, always shows these vents although another Ghia (6 seater) that I looked at, didn't have them either.

Should it have these vents or am I missing the point? Or does it mean that it is not truly dual air-conditioning?

When I start up, the air-con display flashes which indicates a problem but everything seems to work OK. Are there any checks that I can make?

Thanks.

:(

98 GHIA X has AC front with Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) IIRC it wasnt till 99 that dual AC was fitted, this means that the controls on the right hand side of the control panel controls the rear heater unit, which is a recirc heater unit non AC :D

the flashing of the display panel on start up could mean anything from low gas to a faulty sensor, best to get the system checked out as running it on low gas could lead to a major problem! due to the possability of running the system without the correct level of lubricant! a big no no and an even bigger bill :(
