Guest grumpy one Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Does any one know if you can retro fit the mountings for the parcel blind on the face lift Galaxys? We had one on our old Galaxy and forgot to give it to the dealer when we swapped for our new G. The new one doesn't have any mountings, I was hoping to fit some from the scrappiesCheers Quote
yghiatdi Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 I've tried this one also, my mate did the same and brought the shelf of e-bay and got the ford dealer to fit it. They had to cut holes in the sides of the boot to fix the shelf holders. Cant be to hard and if you get the parts from a scrapper you can see how big and where the holes need to be.Hope this helps and let me know how it goes, i might follow youCheers Ian Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 On mine the holes were prescribed on the inside of the panels, once the panels were removed it was just a simple job of cutting the holes and mounting the brackets http://www.elcats.ru/imaudivw/VAG04995.gif http://www.elcats.ru/imaudivw/VAG036BE.gif Quote
Guest grumpy one Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 Ta for the info, at some stage I will have to check out the panels and see if mine are also precut, I suspect that it will be the case. We got used to the security of the blind on our old Galaxy so it would be nice to have the same on this new oneCheers Jim :( Quote

Guest Rigsworth Blows Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Regarding this same subject, is there anywhere you can get a 2001-onwards cover that costs less than Quote
gerryfr Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 I got a spare cover light grey from a new model. I've no use for it as I found my missing old one. Yours for what it cost me Quote
Guest Rigsworth Blows Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005  The hazards of living in London....You always pay more for less......County Durham is a bit out of the way for me, but thanx anyway... Quote
Gadgetoid Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 If you can't find a donor scrap car then you can buy all the fittings new from Frauds for about Quote
Guest grumpy one Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 This is all sounding good news so far, think I'll have to pay a visit to my local dealerPS Forgive me for being ignorant, but, what is TIS?PPs If I get the bits and attmpt to fit them , I'll let you know how easy/hard it is. Quote
Gadgetoid Posted March 7, 2005 Report Posted March 7, 2005 TIS = Technical Information System (or something similar). Its the Ford dealer version of a Haynes manual. You can buy a CD or DVD with it on from Ebay. Not been released officially from Fords so strictly you are buying pirated software  . Lots better than a Haynes manual though. The other source of useful information (and debatably a bit more legal) is the Russian website that vr6galaxy pulls his exploded diagrams from: http://www.elcats.ru/imaudivw Though I seem to be having some trouble accessing it at the moment though - also it covers Sharan rather than Galaxy so some trim variation from Galaxies. Hope this helps  Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted March 8, 2005 Report Posted March 8, 2005 The link to the Russian site changes every so often :D I believe it's so it doesnt attract to much attention :D I'll sort out the link later when I get back Quote
