Guest jtwonk Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Can anyone tell me what the oil spec is for a 6 speed TDi as I'm going to change this soon. What I found on the TIS CD was N052171VX00 which means diddly squat to me . In the handbook it states WSD M2C200-C but this appears to be the standard oil for all Ford manual boxes. I was wonering/ hoping that someone with a VW or Seat could tell me what their handbook quotes or likewise if some one can tell me what to use this would be well appreciated. ThanksJonathan   Quote

b318isp Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 On mine, there was a sticker under the bonnet with a code on it (like 505.01, 506.01, etc.). This is a VW specficiation. Give it to your motor factors (or try GSF) and they should give you the correct oil. I use Castrol SLX on my 1.9 PD as it is a VW 506.01 spec oil. Quote
ferguscawley Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 There is a big difference between engine oil and gearbox oil. Never confuse the two :D Quote
