Guest stawarz Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Hi all! Has anyone replaced a rear lamp cluster on a 2000 model Galaxy? Any particular gotchas? Thanks! Andrew Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 2000 covers pre- and post- facelifted versions!I'm led to believe that on the facelifted versions, the lower lamp fixings are under the body panel that fits between the cluster and the rear bumper. Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 MK1, fairly easy depending on side? unplug it, undo three nuts and the unit lifts out, MK2, you have to remove the trim panel that sits between the light and rear bumper, then unplu it, undo the nuts from inside and again it should lift out hardest bit is removeing the trim section without marking or damageing the paint! warm the area up first so the plastic and the paint isnt so brittle and easier to break! Guest stawarz Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Thanks guys! Yes it's a MK2. Will make careful note about the brittleness of the bezel underneath the lamp cluster (why do they design things in such a way). Andrew Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 IIRC there may even be a fixing or clip for the light unit under the trim panel? you'll soon see though when you get it off! Quote
