Sticky Pad On Rear Window Element

Hi again

We'll be picking up our new (to us) Galaxy later this week. There's a couple of things I want to do to it that I know we'd find annoying if we left. One of the things is to remove an after-market 'magnifier' which is has been stuck on the rear glass window with a sticky pad.

Now, this sticky pad's one of those foam rubber ones and ordinarily I wouldn't think twice about gently scraping it off and/or applying a little nail varnish remover (the wifes...) to melt it a little.

My problem is 1) it's on a Ghia X with dark glass - is the glass itself coloured or is it a film on clear glass - either way will nail varnish remover affect the glass? 2) the sticky pad's unfortunately stuck partially across a heating element - clearly I need to be careful to avoid breaking the circuit but again, would the varnish remover affect that heating element.

I'll shoot off for now - the sky's turned black so hopefully a nice snow deluge is upon us!

The glass itself is tinted.

I've used cellulose thinners in the past to get sticky things off, never had any problems. Just be patient and don't rub too hard or use anything to scrape with.
