smoggie Posted February 21, 2005 Report Posted February 21, 2005 I've orderd my galaxy (arrives a week tomorrow) with leather seats and was wondering. Is the wiring etc for the heated seats option in place and just not connected or are the seats made to order in two batches - those with the heating system included and those with not. Anyone have any ideas ? Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted February 21, 2005 Report Posted February 21, 2005 The heater pads are available as a spare part, as is the loom for powering and controlling them, although from what I can gather the loom is a universal one that does both the heated seats and the front screen, if yours has a heated front screen I would say that the odds are, that the loom for the heated seats is there but not the complete loom as the final links to the seats are IIRC another seperate item! another point also is that people who have had the heater elements replaced have said that the upholstery doesnt seem to go back onto the seat perfect afterwards! smoggie Posted February 23, 2005 Author Report Posted February 23, 2005 Cheers for the reply - dont think I've got the heated screen - I'll know for certain this time next week when its arrived. Quote
Guest nelse Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 By saying ordered I assume it's a new one, the heated screen is standard from the LX upwards (is there a lower trim than LX?) so It's pretty safe to assume it has a heated front screen. Quote
davec Posted February 23, 2005 Report Posted February 23, 2005 i thought leather was only an option for ghia Quote
MrT Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 I just had a pad replaced under warranty today and it would have cost Quote
GSMGuy Posted February 25, 2005 Report Posted February 25, 2005 Big tip... If you have heated seats... Don't keep your wallet in your back pocket - it causes an increase in resistance and a hotspot, which burns out the element!! Had 2 sets of replacements in my 406exec a few years ago - lickily under warranty!!! When examined, both had failed in the same place, and when I sat in the car, it was just under my wallet!!
