Guest sjwarner Posted February 21, 2005 Report Posted February 21, 2005 Hi all - newbie Galaxy owner with a question! I have a 2001, 30000m facelift v6 which has been converted to LPG. Occasionally, (read:daily but not everytime i pullup) when I stop the engine returns to a normal idle but then i hear a click from fusebox like a relay tripping and the engine drops to a very low/rough idle for 10 secs or so and then returns to normal. Cant really say if it does it on petrol as well I had it converted 1 day after i purchased it last december. I was wondering if it was the infamous coil issue or a faully MAF which I have read in this forum? I have tried with Climate control on/off/econ modes in case it was the compressor overloading the engine but no difference. Other than that I cant complain with the car, a few little niggles like ocasional fuel gauge reading empty then climbing again and the kids wanting DVD/PS2 which is being planned - not a nice as my old voyager but cheaper to run, especially at Quote

Guest sjwarner Posted February 21, 2005 Report Posted February 21, 2005 Thanks for the reply I have run it a few times on petrol and it does seem to be that its only a problem on LPG but as its intermittent then you are always left wondering if you just never got the right conditions for it to happen... I did think about it being ignition problems (espcially after reading other posts about coils etc) but I dont get any other indications that it is - its not any worse in the wet/damp/cold, car pulls ok, no misfiring or backfiring. I will check the plugs when i get home just in case. The only consistent event is this click from the fusebox - not sure if its the cause or the result of dropping below a certain voltage level or similar when the revs drop? Fuel gauge issue is the petrol one, LPG ones are terrible but I just run until it changes back to petrol then fill up again - the problem has been mentioned in other posts and just seems part of an overall 'glitchy' electrics system - none of which is serious but if the car keeps 'crying wolf' I may miss or ignore a real problem one day! Cheap plastics yes, but sliding doors, 2,2,3 seating, sterring wheel controls and all those cupholders are missed - huge spare prices and high service bills gladly missed (once quoted over Quote
