Guest Bradbox2001 Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Recently the car has problems starting. The engine turns once, and but doesn't 'catch' to start. After that's happened, the fusebox just makes a rapid ticking noise. If I just turn the ignition on, all the lights are fine, but the oil light is flashing. I've checked the oil level and its fine. Answers would be most welcome... we've just abandoned yet another family outing on a Sunday because the car won't start. In other words... PLEASE HELP!!! Quote
seatkid Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 sounds like the infamous relay 30 again.... Quote
Guest Bradbox2001 Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 What's that then? And how do I fix it? Incidentally I've just had the breakdown guy round who jump started the car and noticed the original battery was still being used. The car is about 10 years old so he recommended getting a new one this afternoon. So we're off to Halfords now. Please can you let me know about Relay 30...! Quote
Guest Bradbox2001 Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 I've just replaced the battery and now she sounds sweet when she starts. Still interested about the relay problem... Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Faulty relay 30 is the cause of loads of starting problems. Quote
