I have a Galaxy 2.4 ghia x 70,000 1998.I have a hissing noise coming from the brake pedal,i have been told that the brake servo seal is gone, how can i replace it without having to replace the servo as there is nothing wrong other than the seal.Having spent most of the weekend upside down trying to get my hands on it there has to be a easier way.

Thanks for any help....

IIRC the brake servo seal replacement has been bought up before on either this or the earlier forum! and i seem to remember that its a total pig of a job! due to the fact that the servo has to be removed to get at the seal!

I'm interested in this bit:

"I have a Galaxy 2.4 ghia x"

Brake servo seal almost always requires servo to come out. How much is a new servo? - and fitting? Time for some nice kind person to take photos and post them here to show how it's done?.............

Rather you than me; sorry to hear of this problem.

You sure it`s not a snake sitting down there hissing at you ?? Really the servo will have to come out I think as Ivor says. Best of luck !

Thanks all - it does sound like a servo job unfortunately.
