Masked Marauder Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 Did you get this problem sorted? If so, what was the cause? Quote
UCD Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 Ref your problem, about 3 years ago on same model I had an intermittent fault similar to yours. Have now got it again. First time the car was under warranty and after 6 efforts at the dealership ignition relays were replaced FOC and problem solved. Caused by ingress of rainwater and/or power washer on front right side of windscreen. Sponge water barrier becomes detached from windscreen with age and water seeps in underneath. Also symptom replicated by jet wash cleaning. Water tracks down under bonnet on to air filter housing and into lower corner where it drips into ignition trunking. Symptom is on engine cut out after normal running and glow plug light flashes steadily. Hairdryer to trunking and in extremis change of starter relay may solve your problem. Hope this helps Quote

Guest Moggy6 Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Hi My TDDI is doing exactly the same thing have you had the problem fixed and if so what was it? Hi, Problem was sorted out over 12 months ago, Diesel Centre i took it to said Diesel pump was faulty but was suspisious as when problem started the car would start and rev but then stall. After talking to a garage at a later date he said problem most likely immobiliser shutting a relay in pump that stops fuel from getting in, when the Diesel Centre installed the pump they could not code the pump with ECU so Auto Electrician had a look and I was told they contacted Bosch, and was told to disconnect the battery for 10 mins and reconnect , this they did and the new pump was fine, the question which they would not answer was if they had done this with old pump would it have still worked. So I think it was an immobiliser problem so try and disconnect the battery and see what happens, if it is pump you are looking at Quote
