My Galaxy (1996 GLX) has the problem in that when driving along the door drops open onto the safety latch....luckily it wont open fully!

The door seems to shut nice and tightly but the problem is becoming more regular...

I can only assum the door latch is faulty and I need a new one...but on on inspection it seems fine.

Could there be anything else causing the the latch to release?

Also, once activated, my rear wiper will not stop unless I turn off the ignition...any ideas here also?

Thanks

I would agree that the latch is mopst likely faulty.

The rear wiper problem will be the self parking switch being u/s. It will probably mean a new item, it may be possible to strip down the old one and clean the contacts of the switch.

The rear wiper could also be one of the cables in the rubber trunking breaking down? mine did the same thing for a while till I replaced the cables to it

The wiper stops by having the supply removed and then the motor being short circuited to use it as a brake. When the switch becomes burned or poor contact it will free run over the stop position and then get power again for it to continue another sweep.
