I know - i keep adding it to my 'to do' list - never gets done,

however the drains in front of the doors i did clean out, the level of mud was unbelievable - 2 1/2 - 3 inches thick!

You can barely see them in that picture - bit too dark.

Looking at these pics....me thinks the car needs its annual wash.....ah maybe tommorow...maybe someday !!!

A much easier way than having padding etc is to hang a tennis ball on a string from the roof. Adjust the length of the string so that the ball touches the windscreen when the car is in the right place in the garage, works every time, dead simple and save repeatedly nudging the bumper on the padding.

my method is great, with only an inch clearance on the sides, and no accidents in 2 years, that

I too have a modern tight garage with 7ft door. Used sidelights initially, but now for a long time have two 1" x 12" x 24" kitchen cabinet shelves (one for each side) laying on the floor which forms a kerb, just roll up to it and the car stops. Have bikes etc with pedals only an inch or two from the front bumper.

Also I find the weight of the Alhambra means the garage floor paint tends to peel under the wheels after its been parked for a while, so I park on 4 old carpet tiles. :D

In nine years, I never bumped the Alhambra(s) once while parking and I've parked in some unbelievably tight spaces - the wing mirrors are very good on this model. I think its more difficult to park a conventional saloon car with extended bonnet and boot.

Could be famous last words.....

Hi,

If you dont want to fit parking sensors fit a tow bar reverse in and wait till you hit the wall.

garage parking

try tying a tennis ball on string & hang off the garage roof(insinde garage)

& position it so when you drive in it touches the windscreen & that's it, you stop

when it touches , simple

or

place 4x2 wood on the floor infront of the front tyres so it acts like a kirb you then stop when you touch them

simple really & cheap

Hey Matt.... thought you had a custom fluted bonnet.... until I realised it's a reflection of the garage door!!

PeteR

no, ime not trying to impersonate Galaxy Grunt

not sure I'd like a fluted bonnet anyways.
