Ivor_E_Tower Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 ...she cant see front of galaxy when parking up or noseing in somewhere, anyone else had this prob ? ...that's why I made sure I got one with front and rear parking sensors! It makes parking an absolute doddle. Quote
GSMGuy Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Lol - will agree with that - parking sensors are a boon! Lost count of the number of times people sitting in the car behind have beeped me whilst I have been reversing towards them - I just carry on to frighten them lol... Happened today in Asda - sorry old fart!!! Mike Quote
Guest MATT Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 although mine has got Park-assist sensors, sometimes when i put the gal in the garage (its a very tight squeeze, fold-in mirrors job) i turn the lights on full wack, and judging by the reflections on the walls i know if ime going to hit or not. Up to yet, my approach has never failed, if it ever did, i would hear no end of it from the wife! Quote
johnb80 Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 evenin all, wife now says she cant see front of galaxy when parking up or noseing in somewhere, anyone else had this prob ?i wondered about sticking something on the front that sticks up !!!!!! any ideas welcomed. I find that mine stops when it hits things  Seriously, I have the parking sensors which work extremely well. Regards - John Quote
Dave-G Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 "i wondered about sticking something on the front that sticks up !!!!!! any ideas welcomed." :P On the car or the wife? :) B) My wifes always noseing in too  Quote
Andrew T Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 Before we bought the Galaxy I looked at quite few imported Japanese MPVs. One of these was fitted with a stick (about 18" high with a small globe on top) on the front nearside bumper corner, for exactly this purpose. The globe even came on with the sidelights so you can see where the corner is at night. The thing was these vehicles were straight off the boat and had not ben SVA tested. I suspect such a device would have to be removed for the test because of its potential to injure pedestrians. Quote
Guest MyPerfectVehicle Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 my wife takes the easy option, only parks in 2 spaces.lol  Quote

Guest vr6galaxy Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 Or what about something like this..........http://i14.ebayimg.com/03/i/03/50/bb/23_12_sb.JPG or a third wing mirror mounted on the front wing similar to ones you see on the imported land cruisers? Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 The reason for these sort of attachments on Japanese vehicles is due to the lack of space in Japanese streets! any means possible to help you get in or out of a parking space or get the vehicle as close to the curb without hitting another vehicle is used, that's why you get the extra mirror on the front wing of the land cruisers and other 4x4's, MPV's or the light wand stuck on the corners to aid you in the dark Quote
Guest MATT Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, somethings just clicked! Quote
seatkid Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 Tape a pair of these to each bumper...http://www.musicoutfitters.com/ethnic/images/bulo_small.jpg Quote
MrT Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 Just buy her a msall plastic brush and dustpan to carry around in the car to sweep up broken glass and lamps off the road. That will also help avoid later tyre damage. No doubt she will not appreciate your generosity and concern for her welfare. Quote

Guest MATT Posted February 8, 2005 Report Posted February 8, 2005 not a bad idea, i use markings on the wall, lights, and wood blocks to guid me in, my garage door is a bit narrow, 7ft i think, you have to fold the mirras in! Quote
