Maggot Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Has anyone tried uprating the brakes on a Galaxy (2.3 Si)?I do a lot of long fast motorway trips in the UK & Europe & am finding that even with new pads fitted the fade is noticeable, is sometimes alarming & can even be downright terrifying if carrying a load!! If any one has any experience of carrying out this type of mod (good or bad) please let me know. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated. I look forward to your replies &/or comments. :( Quote

GSMGuy Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 The drilling of the discs DOES make a big difference as it allows the escape of gases created between the pad and disc, which ordinarily are trapped. If you get thenm slotted, this also helps bty preventing pad glaxe. I had some fitted to my 306 Gti-6 and the difference was astonishing, even on the standard pads... Mike Quote
