Guest dangeeeeerousss Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 hi my galaxy died 2 years ago and am unable to locate a 2.0 dohc engine for it does anyone know if there is any other engine that will go in with out any or very little modification i was told the ford transit 2.0 dohc engine from a 1997 onwards would fit is this correct i want my galaxy back on the road Quote

Andrew T Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 I think you're right, this engine replaced the Pinto unit in the Sierra and Granada in 89. Although it was always DOHC, was it an 8-valve / Hemi head in its early days ?Given that it was mounted longways for the RWD Sierra and Granada would that cause problems fitting it transversely in the Galaxy ? It seems odd that Ford decided to engineer this engine to go in the Galaxy when they already had the 2.0 Zetec engine mounted sideways in the Mondeo. Quote
